Creativity Rules: Music Technology Delivers!

Keynote: Creativity Rules: The Message!

Mobile computer technology, innovative music software solutions, and portable computing are just a few of the current trends in technology that provide exciting possibilities in the K-12 classroom for promoting "music creativity" for traditional and non-traditional music students.  The trend to software solutions for music technology "delivers" an incredible array of music composition and recording techniques to every classroom and computer desktop.  This session will provide an overview replete with examples of these exciting new trends to convince you that anyone can tap into the potential of these new and accessible music software tools.

Creativity Rules: Hands-on with GarageBand (Mac)
Creativity Rules: Hands-on with ACID (PC)

This session (Mac or PC) will provide a hands-on activity with either GarageBand or ACID software to illustrate how these loop-sequencers can be used for music students to create music compositions from vast libraries of sound samples and loops--ideal activities especially for the non-traditional music student who must depend on listening skills alone to create.

Creativity Rules: Where Do I Get Help?

This session will focus on what-do-I-need and how-do-I-get-it questions concerning resources for using music technology effectively in the K-12 classroom.  Participants will be encouraged to submit questions earlier in the day to help customize the session to their needs and issues.
