MSBOA Festivals
A primary service of the MSBOA is to organize various district and state wide festivals for member schools. These events allow middle and high school members to receive recognitions for their achievements in various musical ensembles.
Festival Registration
In order to register for any MSBOA Festival, you must have an account with the MSBOA and be logged into the MSBOA website.
Band & Orchestra
Band and Orchestra Festival is an opportunity for ensembles from member schools to perform a program of three pieces for adjudication, one of which must be from MSBOA's required list. District-level festivals are held at the end of February through the beginning of March. > More
Solo & Ensemble
Solo & Ensemble Festival is an opportunity for individual students from member schools to perform a selection of their choice for adjudication. District-level festivals are held in late January through mid-February. > More
Marching Band
MSBOA Marching Band Festivals are held at the District level only. There is not a State Marching Band Festival.

Jazz Band
The MSBOA State Jazz Festivals provide adjudication for both traditional "Big Band" ensembles and Combos. The festival is unclassified. The "Big Bands" are adjudicated by a panel of three judges and a fourth judge evaluates sight reading. > More
